Job Description
Position Title: Director of Fundraising and Events
Reports To: BNA Board of Directors
Supervision: BNA Executive Committee
Location: Office inside Bethel Lutheran Church, 4120 17th Ave S, Minneapolis, MN 55407; options for hybrid and remote work
Hours: 20-25 per week
Pay: $30 per hour
Benefits: 120 hours PTO annually, paid family and medical leave, paid holidays, stipend for cell phone bill, work computer provided, flexible schedule

About the Position: The Director of Fundraising and Events is responsible for the short and long-term implementation and management of BNA’s mission, vision, strategic plan, financial sustainability, programming, and operations. BNA runs on a co-leadership model. The Director of Fundraising and Events will have primary responsibility for external communications, developing a diversified funding strategy, implementing and maintaining an individual giving program, and events coordination.
In collaboration with the Director of Organizing and Partnerships, the Director of Fundraising and Events will also provide board and committee support, staff various meetings, develop and implement communications, funding, and community-growth strategies, and update BNA policies and procedures as needed.
Essential Responsibilities and Expected Outcomes:
Communication with Community
Collaborate with the Director of Organizing and Partnerships and the Board of Directors to develop an external, community-centered communications strategy in alignment with organizational values, vision, and mission statement.
Prepare and publish both print and digital media, including, but not limited to: BNA quarterly newsletter, website updates, and posts to social media platforms.
Meaningfully represent the organizational identity and voice of BNA in all communications with Bancroft residents and fellow neighborhood organizations.
Collaborate with the Director of Organizing and Partnerships to maintain an accurate and up-to-date organizational and community calendar.
Fundraising
Collaborate with the Director of Organizing and Partnerships to maintain, develop, and implement a diversified organizational funding strategy, including City funding, grants, individual giving, etc.
Oversee the development and implementation of a board-driven individual giving program.
Program and Events
Collaborate with the Director of Organizing and Partnerships and the Board of Directors in the maintenance, development and implementation of programs and community events
Coordinate quarterly events including, but not limited to the annual community meeting, ice-cream social, and harvest meal.
Board & Committee Support
Collaborate with the Director of Organizing and Partnerships to provide staff support to the Board and its committees.
Engage in regular communication with Board members about organizational finances, policies, and needs, in the interest of creating a culture of trust and transparency.
Office Management & Operations
Ensure office and community gathering spaces are in compliance with all ADA requirements.
Work with the office building landlord, keep a clean and tidy office setting, and purchase any necessary equipment and supplies.
Collaborate with the Director of Organizing and Partnerships to maintain appropriate physical and digital records and files.
Collaborate with the Director of Organizing and Partnerships to ensure all BNA policies and procedures are up-to-date and amended as needed in alignment with organizational values and mission statement.
Other duties as assigned
Essential Qualifications
Experience working for a non-profit
Two or more years fundraising experience
Ability to communicate effectively in written and spoken English
Experience interacting with individuals from a broad range of cultural, economic, and social backgrounds
A demonstrated commitment to racial and economic justice, equity, inclusion, and accessibility
Ability to work collaboratively and respectfully with fellow Co-Director, Board members, and community partners
Familiarity with the Bancroft neighborhood
Preferred Qualifications
Fluency or proficiency in Spanish or Somali
Residence in or proximity to the Bancroft neighborhood
