Dear neighbors, This summer, we’re celebrating the many volunteers who’ve contributed to making Bancroft a fun and safe place to live. From the folks at Bancroft Rise who created Bancroft’s weekly potluck to the neighbors who organized rent relief following Operation Metro Surge, we are so grateful for the caring and engaged community that continues to grow. Spring brought many highlights: more than 40 households participated in our annual garage sale (nearly double last year’s turnout), we provided rent relief to dozens of families through a MIRAC grant, and a group of dedicated gardeners have meticulously restored our neighborhood food forest, the Meridian Garden (go visit it!) BNA is expanding services through new grants from the City of Minneapolis. Over the rest of 2026, we’ll be helping residents access free and low-cost energy efficiency programs, and we will support businesses in George Floyd Square with outreach during the disruptive construction period ahead. With your help and in collaboration with CANDO and other community organizations, we collectively blocked the tax assessment that threatened the security of GFS businesses and residents. There’s a lot more work to do, and while the challenges persist, we know that Bancroft neighbors will continue to show up with love, care, and joy. Let’s have a summer for the books, Bancroft! From all of us at BNA, THANK YOU! In solidarity, The BNA Board
