Bancroft, we’re still reminiscing about the glorious summer we had! Our Ice Cream Social was the highlight of the season, with a couple hundred neighbors gathering in the sunshine for an afternoon of fun. We loved seeing so many kids running around, playing games, and getting their faces painted. And we heard the adults were big fans of the craft swap table, too!

A huge thank-you to Pumphouse Creamery for donating the ice cream, and to all of our community tablers, including the Girl Scouts, the City of Minneapolis, and The Southside Greenway. Most of all, thank you to the incredible volunteers who came together to make the day happen. We couldn’t do community without you!

The fall equinox arrived this past week, and we’re looking forward to a bustling season ahead. We’re excited to announce that The Bancroft Banner, our neighborhood print newsletter, will be returning this fall.

We’re also deep in planning for our Harvest Meal and Annual Meeting on November 14 from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church. Come share a free meal with your neighbors, reflect on the year, and vote in our board elections. Speaking of the board, we’re looking for new board members to join us. You can shape the future of Bancroft!

Bancroft neighbors, we want to thank you for your dedication and resilience this year. It hasn’t been an easy one, but you’ve kept showing up for one another, seeing each other through the hard times and celebrating the good ones. You’ve organized potlucks and swaps, volunteered at neighborhood food shelves, and tended gardens—special shoutout to the volunteers who helped restore our Meridian Food Forest! Now, we look forward to harvest time!
